Class levels

Level 0 - No experience required!
Level 1 - You've taken intro to sewing OR you're comfortable setting up a sewing machine and using it to make a straight                       stitch and are ready for your next project
Level 2 - You've made a 1-3 small projects and want to learn garment and quilt making basics
Level 3 - You've made a handful of small - medium sized projects and are ready for a more complex project
Level 4 - You've made a few garments and are comfortable working with sewing patterns

Rework It: Scrap Quilts (4 week class)

Class Description

During this four week class, students will go through the quilt-making process while learning to use scraps instead of new fabric. This class is part of our Rework It series, where we use secondhand and reclaimed textiles to create unique new garments, bags, and quilts. Skills learned will include -Fabric prep, cutting, and piecing -Improv patchwork and half-square triangles -Quilt construction, including the quilt sandwich, and basting techniques -Quilting and binding Students will create a mini quilt using either improv patchwork or half square triangles. All materials, tools, and equipment provided. Students may bring reused textiles and other fabric scraps for this project. Good textiles to use are: dress shirts and other medium-weight clothing, lightweight denim, linens like table cloths and napkins, small textiles like hankies and bandanas Students may also use the fabric library at Sincere Studio
