Class levels

Level 0 - No experience required!
Level 1 - You've taken intro to sewing OR you're comfortable setting up a sewing machine and using it to make a straight                       stitch and are ready for your next project
Level 2 - You've made a 1-3 small projects and want to learn garment and quilt making basics
Level 3 - You've made a handful of small - medium sized projects and are ready for a more complex project
Level 4 - You've made a few garments and are comfortable working with sewing patterns

Class Description

In this class we will work step by step through the process of sewing a simple boxy top. Students will gain important sewing skills and confidence and will leave class with a brand new wardrobe staple to show off to their friends. In this class students will learn: -How to lay out, read, and interpret a pattern. -How to sew from a pattern, including straight and curved seams. -How to finish seams with a zigzag stitch. -How to attach bias binding. -How to hem a garment. Materials List: -100 Acts of Sewing Shirt No. 1 Pattern (provided by Sincere Studio) -1 ½ -1 ¾ yards light-weight cotton lawn or poplin, light to medium weight linen (3 - 5 oz) or linen/cotton blend woven fabric (no jersey or knit fabrics) Find exact yardage here -1 yard ½ inch bias tape -matching thread (polyester or cotton/poly) Students will be able to take home their pattern so they can make more boxy tops!
