1. Member hours access
Members can access the studio from 6am-10pm using a shared key. During class times, members may use the Studio room only.
2. Guest policy
Members can bring one guest per visit. Children are permitted but may not use studio machines, tools, or materials. Other members have priority to studio space and machines if more than 3 people are using the studio at one time. Members must accompany their guest at all times.
3. Free large format printing
Members receive 5 free large format sewing pattern sheets a month ($15 value). Sheets do not roll over.
4. Storage
Members receive a 23"x15" shelf to keep any belongings, tools, materials, or other personal items at the studio.
5. Access to studio tools, machines, and limited materials
Members can use any studio machines they have received training on including sewing machines, sergers, and our coverstitch machine. No assistance will be available to use any tools, materials, or machines therefore members should be able to work completely independently during their visits.
Prerequisites for each machine are as follows:
Sewing machines: intro to sewing or equivalent. Members must be able to demonstrate ability to set up and use a sewing machine.
Sergers: intro to sergers or equivalent. Members must be able to demonstrate ability to thread serger (using manual if needed) and use without assistance.
Coverstitch machine: Members must be able to demonstrate ability to thread coverstitch machine (using manual if needed) and use without assistance.
Members will receive safety training for any relevant tools including rotary cutters.
Members will have access to a limited amount of materials including thread, tailor's chalk, and supplies like tape.

7. Membership policy
Member benefits cannot be transferred to another person [i.e. you cannot let someone use your membership]. Members agree to follow all studio policies and will sign a contract stating their understanding and agreement with studio policies. Sincere Studio retains the right to cancel the membership of anyone who violate studio policies.
8. Mandatory Volunteer Hours
All members will be required to host drop-in open studio hours twice a month for 4 hours (8 hours total per month). This will include greeting non-members using the studio, answering questions, being a "point person" for any guests and opening and closing the studio. Hosting does not involve providing any help or instruction to participants using the studio.

Membership Terms and Conditions
Members must adhere to our membership policy. Read the full policy here. Membership Terms and Conditions 1. Membership Access and Use 1.1 Members are granted access to the studio from 6am to 10pm 1.2 Each member will use a shared key. Members agree to put key back in lockbox after each use. 1.3 Members must sign in and out each time they use the studio. 1.4 The studio is for personal sewing projects only. No mass production, industrial work or teaching is permitted. 1.5 Members must use the studio room during class times 2. Membership Responsibilities 2.1 Membership is for people 18 years and older 2.2 Members must adhere to all posted safety guidelines and equipment usage instructions. 2.3 Members are responsible for cleaning their workspace after use and returning tools and equipment to their proper locations. 2.4 Any damage to equipment or facilities must be reported immediately. 2.5 Members must not bring more than one guest per visit. 2.6 Personal belongings must be stored in designated storage areas. Personal items may be discarded without warning if left out. 2.7 Members agree to volunteer a minimum of 8 hours per month, which includes working designated drop-in studio hours 3. Safety and Security 3.1 The studio is monitored by security cameras for safety purposes. 3.2 Members must not prop open doors or allow unauthorized individuals access to the studio. 3.3 Members must return key to lockbox after unlocking door. 3.4 In case of an emergency, members must follow posted emergency procedures and notify management immediately. 3.5 Members agree to follow closing checklist each time they leave if they are the only person at the studio. 4. Fees and Payments 4.1 Membership fees must be paid in full on a monthly basis. 4.2 Membership fees are non-refundable, except in cases where the studio ceases operations. 4.3 Canceled memberships will be refunded on a prorated basis. 4.4 Early bird pricing is valid for the first 6 months of membership after which the monthly rate of $125 will apply. 5. Code of Conduct 5.1 Members must respect fellow members and studio staff. 5.2 Loud music, disruptive behavior, and inappropriate language are not permitted. 5.3 Messy materials such as paint, spray paint, dyes, inks, charcoal pencils, or any kinds of oils are not permitted in the studio 5.4 Theft, vandalism, or misuse of studio property will result in immediate membership termination with no refund. 5.5 Members agree to clean up after themselves before leaving the studio. 6. Liability and Indemnification 6.1 The studio is not responsible for any personal injury or loss of property. 6.2 Members use the studio and equipment at their own risk and must sign a liability waiver. 6.3 Members agree to indemnify and hold the studio harmless against any claims arising from their use of the space. 7. Membership Termination 7.1 The studio reserves the right to terminate membership for violations of these terms. 7.2 Members may cancel their membership by emailing hello@sincerestudiopdx.org Refunds will be provided on a prorated basis.
