Class levels

Level 0 - No experience required!
Level 1 - You've taken intro to sewing OR you're comfortable setting up a sewing machine and using it to make a straight                       stitch and are ready for your next project
Level 2 - You've made a 1-3 small projects and want to learn garment and quilt making basics
Level 3 - You've made a handful of small - medium sized projects and are ready for a more complex project
Level 4 - You've made a few garments and are comfortable working with sewing patterns

Intro to Sergers

Level 2 | Demystify the serger and make a shirt in this 4 hour class!

Class Description

Learn all about the serger! You’ll get to know how a serger works, practice some basic techniques, learn how to thread the machine, and make your first garment! Students will create a simple t-shirt. Students should bring a t-shirt that fits comfortably to use as a template, plus 1.5 to 2yds of knit fabric to make a new shirt. You should be able to fold your fabric in half and lay your t-shirt on top, plus a bit extra. Please choose a fabric that is medium to heavy weight as lighter fabrics will be more challenging to work with. Limited amounts of fabric are available at the studio, but we cannot guarantee that we will have enough for your project. Class size is limited to four students.
