Intro to Sewing - Free
Class Description
Prerequisite: None Note: Please do not book more than one spot. We reserve the right to cancel any duplicate bookings. Each person must book under their own name. We ask that you only take this class once to allow other community members access to this limited resource . This free class is intended for our lowest income community members, generously sponsored by the Braemar Charitable Trust. ***If you sign up and cannot make it PLEASE LET US KNOW! There will be very long waitlists for these classes and SOMEONE will take your place! Thank you!*** If you’ve never touched a sewing machine, this class is for you! Learn to use a sewing machine in a friendly and welcoming environment while making a super cool and useable reversible tote bag! During this class, we’ll work together to learn the very basics of using a sewing machine. We will set it up, learn some basic stitches, and make our bags together. Students may bring their own machine or use ours. All materials provided. No experience required! If you want to bring your own fabric: please bring four pieces of woven (non-stretchy) fabric that are roughly 16”x18” (Two pieces will become the inside of the bag and two will become the outside). We will cut it down to the actual dimensions for you during the class.
