Level 0 - No experience necessary!

Level 1 - Intro to Sewing** required

Level 2 - Intro to Sewing** and Intro to Sewing II OR Intro to Sewing plus 1-3 small/medium projects

Level 3 - 1-3 Level 2 classes OR Intro to Sewing** plus 3-5 projects

Level 4 - 1-3 Level 2 or 3 classes OR Intro to Sewing** plus 5-8 projects

Class Description

Our grant funding for free open sew hours has come to an end on 3/31/26. Open studio hours allow sewists to come in and use tools, equipment, and thread in the studio for personal projects! Open Studio Hours are independent work time. No instruction or project is provided. **Sewists must be familiar and comfortable setting up and using any tools, equipment, or machines during their appointment.** Staff will not be able to assist with projects or equipment. If you have not used a sewing machine before, we recommend taking our intro to sewing class first :) To use a serger, you must complete Intro to Sergers at Sincere Studio first. If you know how to use a serger and would like to be approved to use a serger during Open Studio Hours, please email frances@sincerestudiopdx.org to set up a skills test. Our sergers keep breaking during open sew hours and we cannot afford to get them fixed!
