PORTLAND, OR — August 1, 2025 — Sincere Studio is proud to announce that by August 22, 2025, 1000 students will have completed their flagship “Intro to Sewing” class.
Since opening 2.5 years ago, Sincere Studio has become a go-to space for welcoming, fun, and accessible sewing education in Portland. As our community increasingly faces climate and political uncertainty, more people are interested in sewing as a tool to express themselves, build self-reliance, save money, opt out of fast fashion, explore ancestral heritage, and find community. Sincere Studio’s goal is to provide space for sewists of all skill levels to explore these pathways regardless of socioeconomic status. 46% of participants that come to Sincere Studio do so for free or with a sliding scale discount.
“Sewing is an empowering life skill that gives people the ability to create, care for, and take ownership of their clothing. To have personally taught each one of those 1000 new sewists has been an honor.”
- Frances Andonopoulos (they/them, Sincere Studios Instructor and Founder/Director)
“Teaching at Sincere Studio brings me so much joy! I love getting to share those lightbulb moments with folks, when a new skill or technique just clicks. It’s so amazing to celebrate each new make and share that pride in creation with new sewists.”
- Windsor Meyer (she/her, Sincere Studios Instructor)
We’re proud of what we’ve done in our first few years and looking forward to what’s next!
