Intro to Sewing III - Zipper Pouch
Required: Intro to Sewing I & II
Learn to make a simple zippered pouch in this three and a half hour class! This is a beginner focused class that starts with a quick refresh of how to set up your sewing machine. Students will make a custom sized pouch using studio materials, and get an introduction to working with zippers. This is a great scrap busting project and makes for excellent gifts!

Ironing and pressing techniques
Working without a pattern
Changing presser feet on a sewing machine
Optional materials:
Two 18" x 22" pieces of non-stretch (woven) fabric such as quilting cotton or lightweight canvas (an 18"x22" cut of quilting cotton is called a "fat quarter" and you'll find these pre-cut at fabric stores)
9” or longer nylon zipper (no metal)
